二、專利翻譯常用詞匯
one or more，考慮翻譯為“一個或多個”，而不是“一個或更多”;
various 翻譯成“多種”可能比“各種”要好；
有些詞的含義比較相似，但在翻譯的時候，最好將其區(qū)分出來，以盡可能體現(xiàn)原文的信息量，這種區(qū)分在詞義上可能意義不大，但在語義上還是有意義的，例如：
1、apparatus, means,device, equipment, facility, tool，對于這些詞，可以選擇下列的對應(yīng)譯文：器械，裝置，設(shè)備，裝備，機構(gòu)，工具
2、memory, storage 存儲器/存儲設(shè)備
3、process,procedure,function, method 過程/進(jìn)程，過程，函數(shù)/功能/方法，方法
4、time, interval, timeinterval, period, duration, cycle，如果這些詞同時出現(xiàn)，在譯文中需要體現(xiàn)出差別
5、estimate“估計”可能是比“估算”更好的
6、location, position,coordinate, place 地點，位置，坐標(biāo)，地方
7、execute, perform,run, process 執(zhí)行，表演/表現(xiàn)，運行，處理
8、power, energy, powersource 功率，能量，功率源
9、direction,orentation 方向，朝向
10、part, section,partition 部分，段，分區(qū)
11、several, multiple,plural, a number of,some 若干，多個，復(fù)數(shù)個，大量，一些
12、read, read out 如果原文加以區(qū)分，譯文也建議加以區(qū)分
13、architecture,structure, struct 架構(gòu)/體系結(jié)構(gòu)，結(jié)構(gòu)
14、disk, optical disk,hard disk, magnetic disk 磁盤，光盤，硬盤
15、assignment,allocation, assign, allocate 分配，指派
16、schedule, arrange 調(diào)度，安排

19、Include 包括，Compriseof 由...組成，分別對應(yīng)開放式與封閉式定義
20、Part，(no)零部件，(yes)部件/零件，“零部件”是2個詞，而Part是一個詞，翻譯時要準(zhǔn)確對應(yīng)
21、value 值，“價值”可能是不準(zhǔn)確的譯法；
22、second 第二，而不是“另一個”；一般也不表達(dá)為“第二個”；類似的，first一般譯為“第一”，而不用在后面接量詞（諸如“個”）；
23、become more 變得 越來越/愈加/更加（書面語，避免過于口語化）；
24、disclosure 公開
25、such as, for example連用的情況：考慮翻成 諸如——作為舉例——
26、brief summary 發(fā)明內(nèi)容
27、duration/time/period/cycle/interval/clock 持續(xù)時間/時間/周期（一段時間）/周期/（時間）間隔/時鐘，這些詞的意思差不多，但在同時出現(xiàn)的時候要加以區(qū)分；
28、disclosure 公開，而非“發(fā)明”；
29、optionally “可選地”，而非“另外”；“另外”有附加的含義，而“可選地”表示單純的可選項；
30、Generally “一般地”，而非“廣泛地”；
31、Megabytes “兆字節(jié)”而非“兆”；
32、rather: “而是”，不推薦“相反”，后者強化了可能不存在的矛盾（The embodiments are not limited to the embodiments set forth herein,rather, …）
33、procedure 過程，程序（結(jié)合上下文選擇適當(dāng)?shù)淖g法）
34、implement “實現(xiàn)”好于“實行”，但為了同近似詞區(qū)分，也可以考慮換用；
35、fabric 構(gòu)造，織物
36、configuration,setting, arrangement 配置，設(shè)置，布置；
37、application,application program 應(yīng)用，應(yīng)用程序；（注意對單獨的application，建議翻譯作“應(yīng)用”而非“應(yīng)用程序”）；
