在我們跨入牛年新年之際,我想在此與大家簡要地回顧一下過去的一年對基華恒運的深遠意義,并簡要介紹一下在2008年12月在布拉格全球高級管理層會議上討論的議題。
As we have entered the new year of the OX, I wish to provide you with a recap of a great year for CEVA and an overview of items covered during our recent global senior management meeting, held in Prague in December of 2008.
在2008年取得的眾多成績當中,其中有一項給我留下了很深的印象。正是在2008年這年,新組建的基華恒運企業(yè)一改一直以來企業(yè)增長速度低于市場增長速度的頹勢,取得了明顯高于市場增速的成績。此前數(shù)年來,這種頹勢拖累著天地物流以及美商恒運兩家公司,揮之不去。這一輝煌成績我們采取的多項行動計劃的結(jié)果;簡而言之,這意味著在2008年,相比我們的競爭對手,客戶比以往任何時候都更傾向于同基華恒運開展業(yè)務(wù)。
Of the many accomplishments of 2008, one stands out in my eyes. 2008 was the year where the newly formed CEVA organization broke the trend of lower-than-market GROWTH, which had plagued TNT logistics as well as EGL for years, to deliver decisive above-market growth rates. This accomplishment sums up all of our many initiatives; in short our customers preferred CEVA over the competition to a greater degree than before, in 2008.

Supporting this accomplishment is our ability to come together as a new organization, quickly,- proving that large merger in our industry does not need to be plagued by years of uncertainty, and a large degree of employee- and customer attrition. I can’t also help to feel a sense of pride by the fact that our global organization now has adopted the UNTIY inspired integration model pioneered here in Asia and executed by you. Leadership takes many shapes, and your ability to embrace our new family and identity, is just that - leadership.毋庸置疑,作為我們整合工作的下一步,中國區(qū)的機構(gòu)將重新合并為“一體”,擁有統(tǒng)一的團隊和統(tǒng)一的戰(zhàn)略,我深信這會帶來出色的業(yè)績和增長。
As a natural next step to our integration efforts, China reorganized as ONE with a team and a strategy which I am confident will deliver outstanding results and growth.要迎接挑戰(zhàn)就要繼續(xù)向“統(tǒng)一”這個方向邁進。當我們發(fā)現(xiàn)利潤空間受到擠壓時,關(guān)鍵的一點就是要重新改變自己,以便能創(chuàng)造切實的價值,為我們的客戶找到解決方案。通過更好地執(zhí)行核心服務(wù),通過創(chuàng)造卓越(正如我們談?wù)摰竭@一點時應(yīng)該做到的那樣),并通過為客戶的供應(yīng)鏈提供創(chuàng)造性的需求,我們就能實現(xiàn)這個目標。
Going forward the challenge will be to continue our direction towards UNITY. As we find our margins under pressure, it is critical that we reinvent ourselves to deliver true value generating solutions to our customers. We will accomplish this by executing better on our core services by delivering EXCELLENCE (as supposed to just talking about it) as well as bringing creativity to our customers’ supply chain needs.跨進2009年,追求“卓越”將是不折不扣的成功之道。正如我之前提到的,當全世界經(jīng)濟風暴烏云密布之時,市場上的服務(wù)提供商也面臨著優(yōu)勝劣汰的自然選擇。弱者將被淘汰,而強者將更加強大。
Heading into 2009, EXCELLENCE will indeed become key. As I have mentioned before, the storm clouds are gathering over the world economy, there will be a natural “selection” of providers in the market. Weak players will disappear, and stronger companies emerge stronger.今天,面臨經(jīng)濟的嚴峻現(xiàn)實,基華恒運有領(lǐng)先市場的增長步伐,有領(lǐng)先市場的戰(zhàn)略,有協(xié)同一致的組織,還有明確的長期愿景?!覀兊膶Σ卟坏茏屛覀円倭⒉坏?,還能讓我們更上一層樓。盡管如此,在某些關(guān)鍵領(lǐng)域上我們?nèi)载酱倪M。
CEVA today has market leading growth rates, a market leading strategy, a clearly aligned organization, and a clearly stated vision as we head into this economic reality. – We have the tools to not only persevere, but to succeed. We do not perform our basic tasks well enough today. Across all products, we are not yet “best in class”- in some areas worryingly lagging behind the market. Lack of standardization and disciplined application of processes leads to lack of productivity, falling service levels, and margin deterioration. Invoicing and collections also suffer. In the past boom economy we succeeded in spite of this, - but now the market place will not be as kind. We will relook at our processes, but more importantly, we all have to embrace the concept of EXCELLENCE and apply it to EVERYTHING that we do. – Stop and think “can I perform this task better”?完善這一點的手段就在我們?nèi)驑藴驶笜嘶A(chǔ)上的“卓越”戰(zhàn)略以及零缺陷啟動、精益管理、智能解決方案當中。我們當中那些理解并采取這些手段的人將取得進步,而那些不理解不采取這些手段的人就會像恐龍那樣被淘汰。任何時候都不要猶豫這樣說:“請再給我解釋一下這個,我不敢肯定一次就理解了所有這些。”
The tools to improve here lie within our EXCELLENCE strategy with ZDS, LEAN, Smart Solutions, supported by Global Standardized Metrics. Those of us who understand and apply these will excel, whereas those who don’t will become “dinosaurs”. It is never too late to say: “Please explain this to me again, as I am not sure I fully understood it the first time.”總而言之,我們已為取得勝利做好了充分準備,我們卯足了勁——但在2009年,我們必須取得卓越的表現(xiàn),實現(xiàn)生產(chǎn)力的提高。——命運要靠我們自己去把握。
In summary, we are very well equipped for success, we have the momentum, - but we have to deliver on excellence and productivity improvements in 2009. – Our destiny is in our own hands.
